Vilnius University is more than 400 years old and ranks among the oldest universities in northern Europe. International tutors teach small groups, and everybody communicates in English; the groups in dentistry consist of eight to ten students, which leads to individual support and encouragement. The medical facilities is comprised of seven departments, two institutes and eleven clinics, making it one of the largest and most important facilities of the entire university. Currently, the faculty teaches around 4,000 students. The faculty works closely with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNESCO.
